I don't know if I've ever made this clear, but I really like those in-character Q&As some people do. Where you ask a character a question, and they will answer in-character. Usually with a little drawing. I've done a few of these myself in the past.

So why not do a little fun in-character Q&A event with my OCs? Ask any questions you'd like to see my OCs answer in the comments of this journal, and I will answer them in-character with a drawing. ^^

Here's the characters you can ask questions to:

Any Ace of Swords character. (Example: Sen, Hild, Aman, Tyrios, etc.)

Any of my Elder Scrolls OCs. (Example: Mirni, Estlin, Dar'vi, Ferevyn, etc.)

Feel free to ask multiple questions.

Answers to the questions will be spoiler-free. (This mostly applies to Ace of Swords) If you ask a question that requires spoilers in the answer, I unfortunately can't answer it. But don't worry! You can always ask another.

I am doing another batch of Ace of Swords redesigns.

What is Ace of Swords?

For anyone who hasn't been following me for very long yet, or just to refresh your memory. Ace of Swords is the title of an original story in an original universe I am working on. It's a fantasy story focusing on a bunch of characters and settings, but most importantly the main character Sen Hinata and her family. In the story there are two main races: humans and alves. (Alves are an elf-like race.)

What's this event?

Basically, you send me one of your characters and I will redesign them to fit into the Ace of Swords universe. That's it really. ^^ This is just for fun and because I like designing characters.

What are the rules?

- Watchers only. No new watchers this time, I'm sorry.

- I will decide on how to redesign your OC into the Ace of Swords universe. So please, no suggestions or demands.

- If your character is non-human, I will change them into either a human or an alf to fit the Ace of Swords universe.

- If your character has an unnatural hair colour, I will change it to a natural one. Exception is silver, since silver hair does appear in the Ace of Swords universe.

- Please remember that this is a redesign, so details about your character will be changed.

- I'll have 5 slots open initially. If I get more than 5 suggestions, I will pick the characters I feel most inspired to redesign. So it's not first come, first serve.

-Include a visual, coloured, full-body reference to the OC you want redesigned.

-Also tell me your OC's name.

So without further ado, here's 10 facts about my boi Clancy Finch. (From Ace of Swords.)

1. Clancy's parents owned an inn together, which is where Clancy learned to cook while helping his parents in the kitchen. Honestly he had to help a lot around the inn, not just in the kitchen.

2. His mother also had a little fortune-telling room in the inn where she would tell people their fortunes. When he was a kid, Clancy was in awe of his mother and her talent... when he grew up, he realised she was just scamming people and did not actually have magical fortune-telling powers.

3. Clancy is an avid reader of adventure novels. It was his little escape from reality as a kid, and he never stopped reading and loving these books as an adult. He even sometimes tries to act out some of his favourite book heroes' personalities in real life. It's usually pretty obvious when he tries to do this, and also unsuccessful in making people think he's a cool and dashing guy.

4. Clancy isn't considered smart in most conventional ways. But he's smart when it comes to emotions. He understands and reads other people's emotions really easily, and is actually really good at dealing with them. This is why he gets along so well with Sen because despite her not showing her emotions very clearly to most people, Clancy often understands when she's upset, for example, anyway.

5. You'd honestly have to do something truly horrible to really get Clancy mad. He's too forgiving for his own good sometimes. It's much easier to make him sad than angry. If you wrong him, he'll just get sad and probably blame himself.

6. He's no longer in contact with his parents, which is probably for the best but weirdly... he does sometimes miss them.

7. Clancy is a fan of birds! He's the type of guy to excitedly point out every time he sees a bird. As a kid, he learned to imitate a few bird calls and sometimes entertained patrons at the inn with them. He's also quite proud to have the last name 'Finch'

8. Out-of-universe fact: The first time I drew Clancy I gave him a handlebar moustache... I hated it so much I immediately erased it. XD I did want him to have some facial hair, that's when I decided to give him sideburns. They're a bit of an odd choice for a young character like Clancy... but I like them. ^^

9. Clancy always wanted to learnt to play an instrument. Preferably a flute. However, he never got to learn and is now too intimidated to pick up the skill.

Here's 10 facts about Mirni:

1. Mirni saw a bit of the Great War between the Empire and the Thalmor. She lived with her mother in Cyrodill at that time. Of course, they fled as soon as they saw the opportunity. A bit after the war ended, Mirni left her mother behind and went to travel on her own.

2. While Mirni always had a talent for magic, she credits her desire to be a mage to the event in her childhood where she was nearly attacked by an assassin and was saved by a mage. As she was very small at the time, she didn't know who he was but she was aware he was an important person. When she got older and connected the dots, she realised he was a Telvanni master wizard. She still isn't sure why he saved her. Of course, we know that was Mirni's own father Varonys. XD

3. Mirni has an interest in the Daedric princes and likes to read about them. She would honestly make a deal with a Daedric prince if she was interested in anything they had to offer, even though making deals with Daedra is a dangerous thing to do.

4. Mirni is terrible with kids. She's awkward around them and doesn't really know how to talk to them in an appropriate way. Like... should she talk in a baby voice and use simple words? Or would that be too much and make the child feel like they're not being taken seriously? Should she just talk to them like she would anyone else? But then they might not follow what she has to say! Etc. Another reason Mirni does not want children.

5. Mirni's most permanent residence is her dorm room at the college of Winterhold and it's a mess! She likes to collect artefacts she finds on her adventures, as well as just interesting trinkets she finds... and books. So many books. So her dorm room is really full of all this stuff and and she pretty much always has at least two unfinished projects lying around. She doesn't like putting projects away when she might still work on them later!

6. When Mirni first met Ralis, she honestly didn't think she would be that interested in him. Sure, it was fun to lightly tease him and flirt with him, but she didn't think it would turn into anything serious. All her relationships up until then hadn't been very serious either, so why would this be? Not that she wasn't open to a serious relationship, she just didn't expect it to happen right there. But as they traveled together she fell hard and it honestly almost scared her. XD

7. Mirni's favourite thing about Ralis appearance-wise is his hair because she thinks red hair is lovely.

8. A bit of an out of universe fact: If I had to pick anyone to ship Mirni with that isn't Ralis it might be Garan Marethi, the dunmer Vampire from the Volkihar clan. Purely because I think it would be interesting and I imagine the tension between them would be entertaining and interesting on several levels. Admittedly, I don't think Garan would ever love Mirni as much as Ralis loves Mirni. He doesn't seem like the type.

9. Another out of universe fact: Originally Mirni was supposed to be a completely different character. She would be a mage specialising in healing and incredibly kind, sweet and a little naive. And I even considered Marcurio, the mage mercenary from Riften, as her potential love interest. XD Her current personality just kind formed naturally and I'm kinda glad it did. I love how she is now. Also, current Mirni has no interest in Marcurio, haha. XD

10. Back to in-universe facts for the last one. At this point, Mirni is open to seeing her mother again someday. Despite her being fed up and angry with her mother when she left, she's long since even forgotten why she was so angry and honestly... she sometimes even misses her mom. If her mom came back into her life somehow, she'd be happy to have a relationship with her again. Also, she can't help but be curious what her mother would think of Ralis. XD

I rarely make Journals, but I was typing this all into a status update and realised it might work better as a journal, especially with how long it's getting. XD

Obligatory sorry for not faving and commenting on art as much, I'm doing my best but I have a lot of watch notifications and I need to just find the time and energy to go through them all. That might take a while. I really want to leave more comments, but comments take some social energy from me so I can only do so many at a time.

Not that I see reacting to art as a chore or anything. ^^ I love seeing all you guys' creations and I just want to make an effort to give them all the attention they deserve.

Anyway for further updates: I'm doing ok. My cat Zira has been sick though. I already went to the vet with her, and I have to go again on Monday for a follow up (She's also getting her vaccinations again at the same time.) Luckily with the medication she's getting, I think she's feeling better overall. I decided to spoil her a little and get her one of those cat water fountains to drink from. It's so cute to see her drinking from that. And hey, it works! She's getting enough water which is always important when you're sick. ^^

I've been taking it easy with art since Promptober is over... yes, I just did a pretty big picture with lots of colours and effects. XD That's still taking it easy compared to Promptober, since I'm feeling much more relaxed while drawing again. There's just not as much pressure. And now that the pressure is gone, I feel much more inspired to draw again strangely. XD

I will be going to Dutch Comic Con again later this month. So there's some preparations to do for that.

That's all the updates I have for you. Might do more update posts in the future! I feel like I mostly post art here and then run, hehe.

(Also wouldn't it be nice if DeviantArt added a feature where you can add a gallery to your journal, the same way you can now add galleries to your descriptions? ^^ )

PS: I am still going to answer those OC questions from ages ago! ^^ A lot of stuff just got in the way lately.
